Lut warned his people about shameful conduct, obstruction of travellers and wrongdoing in their gatherings. He called them to fear Allah and leave transgression. Instead of accepting correction, they challenged him to bring punishment and threatened to expel those who sought purity. This child-friendly account summarises the wrongdoing without graphic detail; the linked verses provide the exact wording.
The messengers who brought Ibrahim glad news also told him about the wrongdoing city of Lut’s people. Ibrahim mentioned that Lut was there. They replied that they knew who was in the city and would save him and his family, except his wife. This scene explains why the later guests came to Lut and distinguishes the believers from the people who persisted in wrongdoing.
Angels came to Lut as guests. He was worried when his people came with harmful intentions. The angels then told him that they were messengers from his Lord and that the people could not harm him.
The angels revealed who they were and told Lut that his people could not reach him. He was instructed to set out with his family during the night and not look back. His wife was excluded from those saved. They told him that the appointed time for the punishment was the morning. The rescue came through following Allah’s instruction, while the people had refused repeated advice.
When Allah’s command came, the city was overturned and stones were sent upon it. Allah delivered Lut and the family members included in the promise. The Quran presents the event as a warning about persistent wrongdoing and rejecting a messenger. The earlier refusal to listen ended in the judgement the messenger had warned about.
This is an original, simplified retelling of selected Quranic accounts and sahih narrations, not a word-for-word translation or a complete biography. Each section links to its sources. Any tafsir explanation is labelled separately. Where the cited sources give less detail, the account remains shorter. The final takeaway is a learning activity.
