1. A messenger calling to Allah
Ilyas was one of Allah's messengers. He asked his people to fear Allah. His message reminded them that their Creator deserved their worship.
Ilyas was one of Allah's messengers. He asked his people to fear Allah. His message reminded them that their Creator deserved their worship.
His people called upon Baal instead of Allah. Ilyas reminded them that Allah was their Lord and the Lord of their ancestors. Many rejected him; their error was false worship and denying the messenger.
The people denied Ilyas, and the Quran warns of their being brought for punishment, except Allah’s chosen servants. The warning separates those who rejected the message from those devoted to Allah. This passage gives the reason for the warning and the honour of the messenger; it does not specify a long sequence of travel, childhood or death scenes.
Allah preserved an honourable mention of Ilyas among later generations. The Quran speaks of peace upon him and describes him as one of Allah's believing servants.
Remember that worship belongs to Allah alone.
A learning takeaway, not a quotation from the Quran. This is an original, simplified retelling of selected Quranic accounts and sahih narrations, not a word-for-word translation or a complete biography. Each section links to its sources. Any tafsir explanation is labelled separately. Where the cited sources give less detail, the account remains shorter. The final takeaway is a learning activity.
