Surah Maryam names Idris as a truthful man and a prophet. Truthfulness is the quality highlighted here: Allah honours him in His Book.
Allah says that He raised Idris to a high station. This passage gives that honour, without describing a long sequence of events in his life.
Sahih al-Bukhari records that Muhammad ﷺ met Idris in the fourth heaven during the ascent with Jibril. Idris welcomed him as a brother and prophet. This authenticated report adds a specific event to the brief Quranic mention.
Surah Al-Anbiya mentions Idris with Ismail and Dhul-Kifl among the patient and righteous. These are the Quranic details given here; we do not add an invented adventure.
Practise telling the truth.
A learning takeaway, not a quotation from the Quran. This is an original, simplified retelling of selected Quranic accounts and sahih narrations, not a word-for-word translation or a complete biography. Each section links to its sources. Any tafsir explanation is labelled separately. Where the cited sources give less detail, the account remains shorter. The final takeaway is a learning activity.
